Deck Demolition & Removal in Fort Wayne

Old decks get dangerous before they look dangerous. Collier's tears out and removes wood and composite decks across Fort Wayne, right down to the posts and footings, and hauls every board away.

Deck Demolition

A deck that has been out in Indiana weather for twenty years is usually worse underneath than it looks from the top. Boards cup and split, joist hangers rust, ledger boards pull away from the house, and posts rot at ground level where you cannot see them. Usually the thing that finally prompts the call is a foot going through a board.

We take the whole thing out. Decking, railings, stairs, joists, beams and posts. If the deck is attached to the house, the ledger board comes off and the siding gets closed up so the house is not left open where it was fastened.

Footings are a conversation worth having at the walk-through. Pulling concrete piers out of the ground is different work than cutting posts at grade, and which one you want depends on whether something new is going in that spot. Tell us the plan and we will do it the way that actually helps the next step.

Most decks are a one-day job. The debris is bulky but predictable, and we load it straight onto the trailer as we go rather than making a pile in the yard. Nails and screws get picked up before we leave, which matters more than people expect if there are kids or dogs in that yard.

When we are done the area is clear and raked. Whether you are building something new there or just want the yard back, it is ready.

WHAT AFFECTS THE PRICE

Every job is different, so we price off a walk-through rather than a number over the phone. These are the things that actually move it.

Size and height

Square footage plus how high off the ground it sits. Second-story decks take more work to bring down safely.

Material

Pressure-treated lumber, composite and hardwood all weigh and dispose differently.

Attached or freestanding

Attached decks add ledger removal and closing the siding back up.

Footings

Cutting posts at grade is quicker. Digging out concrete piers is separate work.

Access

A deck we can reach with a trailer is faster than one behind a fence in a tight backyard.
